Galentine’s Day Private Chef Brunch in Rhode Island and Massachusetts
Galentine’s Day Private Chef Brunch in Rhode Island and Massachusetts
A Galentine’s Day private chef brunch runs at your pace, in your home, on February 13th. Four to twelve friends around your dining-room table. Mimosas already poured. The kitchen smells like brown butter and fresh pastry. Nobody is in line at a crowded Providence brunch spot or fighting for parking in Wellesley.
Galentine’s has gone from inside joke to a real reason to host. The friends who can’t make Valentine’s plans together because they’re all paired up that night. The single friends who want a real meal, not a six-top at a noisy restaurant. The mother-daughter brunch. The book-club brunch. The work-friend brunch.
I’m Paige Gilbert, owner and chef at Partum Events. I cook private chef brunches in homes across Rhode Island and Massachusetts, including Providence, East Greenwich, Barrington, Wellesley, Newton, Brookline, Wakefield, and Cambridge. Galentine’s is one of the few February dates that fills up.
This is not a restaurant booking. The night is yours.
Why Galentine’s Belongs at Home
A February 13th restaurant reservation is the worst version of itself. The kitchen is gearing up for Valentine’s the next night. The wait is long. The menu is generic. The table flip is fast. You can’t really linger over a third mimosa or laugh too loud without someone glaring.
This is not a brunch reservation. A chef in your kitchen means no wait, no time limit, no parking. The mimosas keep coming. The friends stay as long as they want. The kitchen gets cleaned before you’ve finished your last cup of coffee.
Most Galentine’s bookings I take are six to ten friends, served family style, paced over two and a half hours. Some sit-down, some stand-around, often with a mid-brunch group photo by someone’s window.
How a Galentine’s Brunch Runs
I arrive 2.5 hours before guests. Kitchen setup begins. Pastries finished, eggs prepped, mimosa station built on the dining-room sideboard.
Service is family style, paced course by course. Cold platters out first. Hot dishes follow. Coffee and tea throughout. Dessert when everyone’s slowed down. I clean as I go so the kitchen is wiped down by the time the last friend leaves.
Brunch is more flexible than dinner. If half the group wants to eat at 11 and the other half at 1, that works. I keep service going and let the timing flow with your group.
A Sample Galentine’s Brunch Menu
Galentine’s menus lean lighter and more shareable than weeknight brunches. Cured fish, soft eggs, fresh pastry, fruit at peak. Some sweet, some savory, plenty to graze on while the group talks.

Each menu is intentional. Tell me the size of the group, the dietary needs, and any traditions (mimosa flight, build-your-own toast bar, doughnut tower) and I build the brunch around it. Non-alcoholic guests get the same care: mocktail flight, fresh juice bar, virgin mimosas with edible flowers, so nobody at the table is reaching for a water glass.
What’s Actually Included
Everything. Menu consultation, sourcing from local suppliers, all ingredients, kitchen setup, cooking, service, and cleanup. You don’t touch a dish.
I bring equipment if your kitchen doesn’t have what we need. I work in rental homes, condos, and old houses with quirky kitchens all the time, so an unfamiliar kitchen doesn’t faze me. I’ll do a quick walkthrough beforehand to know what I’m working with.
Service stays out of the way. I plate and bring courses to the table. Between courses I’m in the kitchen, not parked at the table. During dessert, I’m mostly out of sight unless you want something else.
Wine, spirits, and any specialty rentals are discussed upfront. I bring mixers, citrus, fresh herbs, garnishes, and glassware if your kitchen is short.

Where I Drive
In Rhode Island, the Galentine’s calendar covers Providence (College Hill, the East Side, Federal Hill), East Greenwich, Barrington, Bristol, Wakefield, and Narragansett.
In Massachusetts, I cover Wellesley, Newton, Brookline, Needham, Weston, Dover, Cambridge, and the rest of the Boston suburbs. Mainland Cape Cod is also part of the February calendar for groups who keep a Cape house year-round.
Full pricing logic lives in the private chef cost guide for Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
When to Book
Galentine’s books faster than you’d expect. Most groups confirm three to four weeks ahead. The closer to February you reach out, the harder it is to lock the date.
If you’re reading this in December or January, send a note. The earlier you reach out, the more flexibility on the timing of the brunch.

Mother-daughter Galentine’s: same brunch format with a tighter group. Often four to six guests. The menu skews a little more traditional.
Work-friend Galentine’s: usually six to ten guests, more graze-and-go than sit-down. Often booked by the host who has the right-sized house for it.
Book-club Galentine’s: a couple of my repeat groups do their February book club as a Galentine’s brunch instead. Same format, with the book discussion folded into the second hour.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Galentine’s Day?
February 13th, the day before Valentine’s Day. It started as a joke on Parks and Recreation about celebrating women’s friendships. It’s become a real reason to host.
Do you cook Galentine’s brunch in Providence?
Yes. Providence is part of the regular service area. College Hill, the East Side, Federal Hill, and the rest of the city.
Do you cook Galentine’s brunch in Wellesley or Newton?
Yes. The Boston suburbs are a steady part of the Galentine’s calendar.
How far in advance should I book?
Three to four weeks ahead is typical. Earlier is better if you have a fixed date and group.
Can you handle dietary restrictions across a group?
Yes. Every menu is built around the group. Gluten free, dairy free, nut allergies, fully vegetarian, fully plant-based, kosher-style.
Can you do a non-alcoholic brunch?
Yes. Mocktail flight, fresh juice bar, virgin mimosas with edible flowers. The menu is the same, the drinks shift.
How many friends can attend?
Most Galentine’s bookings are six to ten guests. Smaller groups of four are intimate. Up to twelve works in family-style or graze format.
What about wine, mimosas, and cocktails?
You provide the champagne, wine, and spirits. I bring mixers, fresh juices, citrus, fresh herbs, garnishes, and glassware if your home is short.
Do you cook in Cambridge or Back Bay condos?
Yes. Urban brunches in condos and townhouses are common Galentine’s bookings.
What does a Galentine’s brunch usually run per person?
Per-person pricing depends on the menu, group size, and any specialty items. Brunch quotes below the standard dinner floor are possible. Full pricing logic is in the cost guide.
Can you cook in a Wakefield or Bristol home?
Yes. Rhode Island bookings outside Providence are part of the regular service area.
Can you do a brunch on Sunday February 14th instead?
Yes. Some groups do their Galentine’s on Sunday the 14th to avoid the Valentine’s-night crowd.
How do I actually book?
